Description

Object: Imari plate from the late Edo period (1850-70), decorated in overglaze colours and gold.


Decoration: A samurai in full battle dress and an Oiran (a high ranking geisha); several round reserves with mostly floral designs.


Size: Diameter 24 cm (8.5").

Marks: "Hichozan Shinpo zo" (in Japanese kanji characters, overglaze red).

State: Excellent - no chips, cracks or repairs.

NOTE: Sometimes we sell a set of items (e.g. five cups, six plates) one by one. In this case we usually only take pictures of one of these items and use the same pictures for subsequent listings, unless there are any important differences (like e.g. damage).  Sorry, it is just too much work - we can't keep up.  If for any reasons you want to see the "exact" pictures of the object on sale, please e-mail us.

Payment

Payment: By bank transfer (JPY, EUR or GBP) or by Paypal. Items need to be paid within one week. If you can't accomplish this for whatever reason, please contact us as soon as possible in order to avoid disputes. Of course, if you buy more than one item, we will try to combine shipping whenever possible. However, please keep in mind that some of our items are shipped from the UK and others from Japan.
