Description: This beautiful bottle-green large glass beer stein/pitcher was made around late 189s - early 1900s. It is made of blown glass with applied handle in unusual bulbous shape..
The stein is decorated with hand-painted enameled beautiful picture of Munich Child or Munchener Kindl - the symbol of the city of Munich for many centuries. Created as the coat-of-arms or archival seal of Munich in 1239, the centrally depicted Münchner Kindl (Munich Child) has evolved from a hooded monk standing in front of Munich’s gate to a charming child and symbol of the city.
Please note - this is a 2-liter pouring stein/pitcher that could be also used as a wine decanter because ot it's shape. Quite an unusual and rare shape - I haven't seen this one before.
The stein is in excellent condition. It stays 11" tall to the top of the finial, 2L capacity. 8" diameter.
