Antique Chinese needle case - Enameled vase with flowers – (2394)
Enameled silver needle case in the shape of a vase (Peace). The sides of the vase are decorated on one side with a Lotus flower and Seedpod symbolizing Continuous Harmony as well as Fertility and Plum flowers (Five Blessings, see QF 8258) on the other. The embossed hook is shaped like an upside down Bat (Blessings have arrived). The chain is attached to an oval needle holder, its interior fixed to the stand of the vase. At the bottom dangles a Melon (Many children). The needle case is unmarked and dates from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Total length 20 cm. Needle case length 6 cm. Width 2.3 cm. Final shipping cost will be based on actual postage. The difference, if any, will be reimbursed.
