We are offering " A Key to the American Psilocybin Mushroom ".  Revised Edition Copyright 1971 by Church of the One Sermon.  (Original Copyright 1970 by Leonard Enos.)  A Youniverse Production.  Soft cover book.  82 pages, including addendums.  (5 1/4" x 8 1/4").  There is a signature on the title page "Randy U. Meseph" (not sure if the last name is correct, but that is how it looks to us).  The book describes 15 different species of mushrooms that were collected in the USA and Canada.  It gives the complete physical description, habit, habitat, geographical location, and a full size color illustration of each species.  Also describes a simple chemical test to determine (in the field) the presence of psilocybin; home growing methods including culture media formulas, molecular yoga, electronic Zen, and the sustaining power of All the Buddhas.  The book has three separate inserts: 1.) A hand-written and copied "order form", with some "mushroom" artwork with an American flag theme at the top.  Orders were sent to Church of the One Sermon, 8135 Lincoln Street, Lemon Grove, California.  2.) A printed informational sheet about "SUBUD", a religous center in San Rafael, CA.  SUBUD is an acronym that stands for three Javanese words - Susila, Budhi and Dharma, which are derived from the Sanskrit terms: Susila (good natured character); Budhi (the force of the inner self within the man); and Dharma (surrender, trust and sincerity towards Almighty God).  Here SUBUD is denying that they were in any way connected with the use of "Initiators" (any organic or synthetic "psychedelic subsances").  However, they do allude to the fact that some members may use these substances, but the "official philosophy" of the organization in no way advocates or condones them.  They do mention that the list of all the SUBUD Centers in the U.S. and Canada that was included in the first edition of this book had been omitted as many of the names and addresses had changed.  This could possibly be the only difference between the two editions.  3.) The last sheet states that, because many people are finding it difficult to acquire "metol", the substance can be ordered directly from Church of the One Sermon (price list is included).  We researched metol because we were curious as to what it has to do with anything connected to the church or to psilocybin mushrooms, and the only thing we could find out is that it is a hydrogen sulfate salt used in photograph development.  Who knows?
