I used designer Stainless Steel chain.  You can cut and make this chain shorter if you want.

My lanyards are approx. 36" long.

Stainless Steel chain is 34" long.  Drop is approx.  2" long.  

My lanyards are  lightweight and easily go over your head.  

Lanyards make great gift for nurses, teachers, hospital staff, airline personnel and other professions that require id badge.
