It is a brass cover. A meter would have been inside at one time.. it has tarnished and will need polished. It Measures 2¼" tall x 3¾" diameter. The lid lifts up. Repurpose into a trinket/jewelry holder or even loose change. So many possibilities for a great vintage piece. Please see pictures as they are part of the description.
