Antique Islamic Malay solid Silver Betel, (Sirih) / Tobacco Box, 'Chelpa' - Malay People, 19th Century Malesia.
The hinged box of lobed form, constructed from beaten sheet silver decorated with chasing, engraving and punchwork with Islamic Malay design. The box with hinged lid affix with integral locking mechanism and suspension loop.
CONDITION: Signs of genuine age and usage, with wear, no repairs, or restorations.
MEASUREMENTS:
Overall diameter including suspension ring: 9.3 cm (3.66 inches).
