• Made in Germany (DDR) - Carl Zeiss Jena in the 70's on order of Czechoslovakian armed forces. MPN: 42189

• The 2 m subtense bar from Zeiss Jena is a 2 piece light metal tube which you can stuck together via a screw flange. The ends of the tube have targets at exactly 2 m separation.They can also be illuminated electrically with an illumination set. You will receive also the illumination set, but accumulator (storage battery) is unfortunately NOT a part of the set. The small lamps were normally equipped with small 2,5V 0,2A bulbs. Inside each half of the rod there is an invar bar for temperature compensation. Invar (nickel-iron alloy) is unique in its resistance to the temperature changes, so unlike other metals it will not expand or contract (it is from word invariable). Subtense bar is also called parallactic bar, because it was used as a base by measuring parallactic angle with precision theodolites, like for example Theo 010. Once all is set up, observer will measure the angle from his position to each end of the 2m markings on the subtense bar, do some calculations and he will get the distance from the observer to the centre point of the bar.

• Color: grey - typical for the 70's.

• Weight of the whole wooden transport box including all the items is over 15 kg.

• Dimensions of the box are app: 156 x 19 x 17,5 cm.

• Condition: USED, but in perfect like new condition - never used at work, just checked during the stock countings etc. The subtense bar itsef is in perfect condition, black color around the central rhombus target and also the triangels is already faded (picture no.1 and 6). Wooden box has a crack from one side with the handle and than some typical longer storage marks and scratches from moving and replacing, but it is still in good and serviceable condition. Illumination set is perfectly preserved. Plumb bob the same. Tribrach has some small color imprints from the bottom, but that is only the color from the pouch rivets, which are brown painted. • Set will be safely packed and shipped via Slovak post - registered mail (for US customers traceable also via USPS).

We usually ship within 1-2 days after the payment via registered mail from Slovakia (EUROPEAN UNION) using the services of the Slovak Post. After the shipment You will be provided with TRACKING NUMBER, so you can track your item (s) via Slovak post tracking system and US customers also via USPS. Your items will be precisely & safely packed. Packages outside the EU will have CN22 or CN23 form for custom clearance attached with the real value of the goods stated, so please check with the customs for possible additional costs.

We do accept returns within 30 days after receiving the item. The last thing we want to have are unhappy customers. If you feel unhappy or unsatisfied with the item (s) you have received, because it was damaged, not functional or something totally different what you have purchased, please contact us as soon as possible.  We can resolve this problem together via money return or replacement (in case that the item is still available). The choice is up to you. Returned items have to be in the same condition as you have received it, so no signs of abuse or inadequate handling and they must be in its original packing. Otherwise it won´t be accepted. Shipping & handling costs are non- refundable.
