Dread Zeppelin is an American rock band known for performing Led Zeppelin songs in a reggae style as sung by a heavy sey Vegas Elvis impersonator. They have also performed Elvis Presley, Bob Marley & The Yardbirds songs, which flirted with self-parody. Their 1st recording was meant as a goof on Led Zeppelin's single Immigrant Song & its sought-after non-LP B-Side Hey Hey What Can I Do. 1st album Un-Led-Ed (’90) had more covers from albums Led Zeppelin & Led Zeppelin II, & their untitled album. Paul Maselli replaced drummer Curt Lichter for 2nd album 5,000,000* *Tortelvis Fans Can't Be Wrong (’90) which was in the usual "Zeppelin in reggae style" & featured a cover of Bob Marley's Stir It Up plus 3 original songs. Album It's Not Unusual (’92) of disco covers was released without popular frontman Tortelvis. With the addition of David Raven (drums), bassist Freddie Johnson & Pete Burke on conga, No Quarter Pounder ('95) was recorded. The Fun Sessions ('96) of classic rock covers was the 1st all non-Led Zeppelin cover recording with exception of BBWAGS (Butt-Boy's Wearin' a Girls' Shirt). Johnson & Burke then left with the return of & Carl Jah & Ed Zeppelin for albums De-jah Voodoo ('00), Presents ('02) & Chicken & Ribs ('04). During the recording of Bar Coda ('07) Jah left the band. Dread Zeppelin still tours & releases new material with original members Butt-Boy & Tortelvis & longtime members Putman, Spice, Bob Knarley, Ziggy Knarley & Charlie Haj.
