Antique 19th Century Scrimshaw bodkin

This antique tool was made out of whalebone and was used for sewing and stitching sails or others fabrics by whalers. The bodkin comes with in an tiny velvet lined case.

This is a rare piece that would fit perfectly in a cabinet of curiosities or any whaling- or scrimshaw collection!

After more than a century this folk art piece remains in overall good condition. The outer covering of the case shows some damage.
