Up for sale is a completed, hand crafted Crewel Embroidery from JCA Elsa Williams Collection. It is just a lovely rendering of flowers in an  vase done on linen.  .

This is from the Elsa Williams collection adapted from a design by Lena Liu. Any waviness you see in the pictures is just caused by the camera.

The plastic that was covering the embroidery was removed so that a better picture could be provided with this listing.

This type of embroidery is called Colorart in which the design is printed onto polyester fabric and then embellished with stitches. In this case, the tulips and some of the lilacs and done in crewel embroidery.  The colors are just so pale and dreamy.

The embroidery is called: FLOWERING WATERCOLOR.  The kit number is 50359.

Included in this listing is a picture of the kit for this embroidery which is shown for reference as this embroidery does not come with a kit.  The picture on the kit does show how the manufacturer recommended that it be framed.

the size is 18 x 22 and the fabric is stretched and mounted onto plywood backing. It is ready for a mat and frame of your choosing.

recently saw a kit for this embroidery sell got. $69 on eBay.

This picture was a model to an embroidery kit which would have been on display in a store to show the prospective buyers how the item will look when finished.

I

learned recently that the name on many of these finished pieces identified the

company as JCA Inc. with an address in Massachusettes. They evidently ceased

operations and will not be making/distributing anymore needlecraft kits. These

finished piece from kits are already hard to find and will only be offered

occasionally perhaps on the internet. Per the JCA website:

"Due to the death of our owner,

Alan S. Getz, JCA, Inc. has ceased operations indefinitely.

We would like to thank

our loyal customers who have supported JCA for over 50 years.

JCA manufactures

premium needlecraft products and distributes fine knitting yarns. We are an

amalgamation of three companies-Paternayan Brothers (started in 1939), Elsa

Williams (started in 1960) and Reynolds Yarns (also started in 1960)."
