Zushi Cabinet Wood sculpture of Myoken God of Big dipper

A hand-carved wooden Myoken Bosatsu (Bodhisattva) in a gorgeous red and gold Zushi cabinet.
Unfortunately, the sword in his right hand is missing, but the details on his face are magnificent.

Myōken also known as Sonshō-Ō, is a Buddhist deity revered as the deification of the North Star.
There is a theory that hidden Christians worshipped the statue of Myoken as a cross, because the shape of the sword in the right hand and the shape of the left hand represent a horizontal and vertical cross.
Hidden Christians in various places seem to have worshipped Myoken as the God Emperor Zeus.
