ASARINA PROCUMBENS, CREEPING SNAPDRAGON

This beautiful soft looking, creeping perennial is native to the Iberian Peninsula. Kidney-shaped, coarsely dentate gray-green leaves to 5 cm across, cover trailing stems to 60 cm long. Two -lipped snapdragon-like, quite large flowers (3,5 cm long) are pale yellow with deep yellow throats and light purple veining and bloom singly in the leaf axils. Flowering period is incredibly long – from April to October. Plant is evergreen in warm winter climates. Easy to grow as an annual. Excellent in rock- gardens and containers with protection from the hottest sun.

-Aftercare: part shade to full sun and well drained soil; it likes regular summer water; hardy to -20 C ; in colder climates needs winter protection;
