The blue mistflower is a North American herbaceous perennial formerly classified in the genus Eupatorium now is in the genus Conoclinium (meanders of genetics). It looks quite like annual ageratum and in that regard is also commonly called "hardy ageratum". Numerous intense blue, violet or sometimes white fuzzy flowers atop attractive red stems brighten the garden from July to November.
