An Authentic Feathery Golf Ball styled in the 1700’s design.Made in the traditional method, a leather pouch filled with top quality goose down and some feather content.Principle of manufacture is soak the leather, fill with wet goose down, dry allowing the leather to shrink and the goose down to expand resulting in a firm ball and paint.Simple, but not easy to create an Authentic Feathery Golf Ball such as we have here.We have created a ball similar to those made in the early to mid 1700’s, later the ball had a slightly different shape and reverted in the 1800’s to our earlier design. Our balls are unsigned and don’t show weight, they were simply made to different sizes which gave either lighter or heavier weight in those early days, naming and designating weight started in the early 1800’s.Our Authentic Feathery Golf Balls range in size from 38mm to 42mm, the weight range is 32 gram to 38 gram, the feeling can be described as firm to hard, bounce, when thrown down onto a hard surface returns to waist height. Most of the photos are self explanatory, however the golf club shown is an exact replica of one of the oldest clubs ever found known as the Troon clubs, discovered in a wall cavity of a fire damaged house in 1741, notable experts at the time stated they could well have been made in the late 1600’s.
