The Sisters of Mercy are an English rock band formed in '80. After early underground fame, they had their commercial breakthrough in the mid ‘80s & sustained it into the early ‘90s. The band ceased recording activity in '93 when they went on strike against Time Warner, who they accused of incompetence & withholding royalties. The band has released 3 studio albums & are currently a touring outfit only. Although released from their contract in '97, they have not signed to another label nor released any new material despite showcasing numerous new songs in their live sets. In 2006 the band toured Europe & North America & In 2011 they celebrated their 30^th anniversary by playing across Europe, Japan, Australia & New Zealand!
