Nintendo 64 Original Analog Joystick Rebuild Kit

If your N64 analog stick is loose and no longer snaps back to center, then this is the kit you NEED!

DON'T replace your controller with cheap aftermarket ones made with cheap plastics and spongy gears.

While nothing will ever replace the original Nintendo Gears, these are the closest to OEM on the market Guaranteed!

Loose sticks don't win Super Smash Bros!

Included in this kit:
  • Bowl
  • 1x 1CC tube of Super Lube
  • Gear for X Axis
  • Gear for Y Axis

General Installation Notes:

  • Take apart your analog stick
  • Separate all parts (don't forget to remove the 2 black wheels from the old bowl)
  • Set aside the old bowl & gears
  • Clean the spring, white washer, joystick, housing & sensors on the circuit board
  • Install Wheels into new bowl
  • Apply lubrication to bowl (don't go crazy, enough to coat the contact surface of the bowl, you can always add more later! There is such a thing a too much in this case. You can use a Q-tip to help evenly spread the lube.)
  • Lightly sand the bottom of your current joystick. This helps to smooth out the bottom so it glides easier. (A simple nail file will work to help sand the bottom down a little)
  • Reassemble bottom and top assembles
  • Make sure joystick & both gears are lined up
  • Sandwich top and bottom back together

Please note, these are generalized notes to give you an overview. There are many great videos on YouTube demonstrating the process.

This is NOT a hard repair to perform! It sounds more complicated on paper than it really is. If you have any questions about the repair, please message me and I will do my best to help. I've refurbished many N64 sticks and can assure you the process is very straightforward.

Important Notes for the Buyer:

Since the gears and bowl are brand new, please be aware there may be a BREAK IN period. As you game with it, the joystick will start wearing into the new bowl.

Because of the nature of these parts, returns WILL NOT be accepted unless the parts are actually broken when received. After your rebuild, if you feel some "grit" as you start to use the joystick again, that just means you need to lightly sand the bottom of the joystick just a bit more. We recommend doing a few test fits BEFORE you apply the lubrication.
