Fjallraven Greenland Wax Bag

This product comes from the Swedish outdoor alchemists Fjällräven.

Their Greeland Wax is used to provide enhanced weather and dirt protection to their G-1000 material garments. Depending on your intended activity and weather conditions this product is adaptable to suit, with more wax providing your garment with additional resistance.

Fjällräven G-1000 material is an integral part of their range and consists of a tight weave of 65% polyester and 35% cotton which is durable, windproof, quick drying, and thanks to an impregnation process of Greenland Wax also water resistant and dirty repellent. Over time however the wax washes out of the fabric and its water resistant properties become reduced. This wax will increase the lifespan of your garment. 

Made from paraffin and beeswax one 100g bar should be enough for ten items of clothing. To apply rub the block in long strokes against the fabric, leaving an even, thin layer.  Alternatively you can melt the wax into the fabric with an iron on low/moderate heat with no stream (remember to wipe off the iron before you use it on other garments). You can also use a hair-dryer or the flame of a camping stove. The wax melts at approximately 55-60°C (131-140°F).

For enhanced results repeat the process several times rather than applying thick layers.
