Some important information about our replacement filters:
Not all filters are created equal. The quality and efficacy of a filter should not be judged by its appearance. Like many 'replacement', 'universal' or 'non-genuine' parts or consumables, our carbon impregnated filters may look and feel different to those supplied by other manufacturers including those supplied with the cat litter box when you bought it. Our filters are the same high quality filter products we have supplied in the UK for over thirty years. The level of activated carbon particles impregnated in the carrier material is higher in our filters than in some other filter products. The activated charcoal particles are the ingredient that does the work of neutralising nasty odours, not the material that holds the particles. The higher the level of carbon content per square cm the more efficient the filter is at neutralising odours. No filter will absorb all odours all of the time, hence the need to replace filters on a regular basis.
Our flexi-filter material, impregnated with activated carbon particles, allows for easier installation.
We recommend that filters are replaced on a regular basis according to use of the litter box by your cat. If you have more than one cat then you will need to change the filter more often. Likewise, if your cat is elderly our unwell, you may need to keep how often you replace the filters under review.
A helpful tip; If you prefer to use a scented litter in your cat's box please be aware that the filter will not discriminate between scents so you may find that the filter will cease to work more quickly as it copes with the perfumed litter odour as well as cat odours. This will mean that you may find you are changing your filter more.
