Les Paul SG in 1961.
In the history of Gibson, Les Paul models were changed to SG shape in 1961.
Nowadays, we would call it a completely different new model rather than a model change, but at that time, Les Paul meant SG. For various reasons, the name "Les Paul" was dropped a few years later and it officially became "SG.
This 1961 Les Paul SG Standard, Epiphone version is a reproduction of the SG of that period.
The truss rod cover is engraved with the letters "Les Paul".
As befits a reissue, it has a two-piece mahogany body, one-piece mahogany neck, and a slim-taper C-shape neck profile.
The electrics are up to snuff with Gibson BurstBucker humbucking pickups wired with CTS potentiometers and Mallory capacitors, Switchcraft output jacks and toggle switches, and Graph Tech nuts.
Vintage-inspired touches include a long pickguard, a historic double-ring design on the tuner knobs, and an aged classic white color.
In addition, a hard case is included.
