I am David Ahl, and I am finally sorting out and selling my vintage computers, books, and magazines. Many of you know me as the founder, publisher, and editor of Creative Computing, the FIRST personal computing magazine. The magazine was devoted to software, programs, and actual things to do with a computer, not to the hardware or circuit design. The first issues from Nov/Dec 1974 to Sep/Oct 1976 were printed on cheap newsprint and then we switched to high-quality coated stock. I stored a few issues in my basement for the past 45 years and they are still in very good condition. Yeah, you can get the contents on line, but there's nothing like holding the physical magazine in your hands.

Issue highlights. This issue, August 1984, Vol 10, No 8, was one of my all-time favorites and propelled Creative Computing into a league with Fortune and Forbes magazines. I spent a month in Japan on two trips interviewing the top executives and CEOs of the 14 leading tech companies in the country. We had articles by top politicians like Sen. Paul Tsongas and William Rapp, AI researchers like Dr. Edward Feigenbaum, Dr. Ichiro Kato, and others, educators, executives, and CEOs. This was a time when Japan was on the rise in technology with the vaunted 5th Generation Computer Project, the standardized MSX Operating System, robots, AI, and perhaps the best management systems in the world. The issue also included a 16-page special section with a guide to computer training materials. Also the first multi-page ad for the Apple IIc. This was a world class issue! Full color, 216 pages, cover price $2.95.

I (David Ahl) would be happy to personally autograph the issue on the contents page if you wish.
