Thread Restorer Crowfoot Spanner Tools FOR Ford Fuel Vaporiser DPF Filter
Ford EcoBlue diesel engines use a fuel vaporiser in their exhaust system just upstream of the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) which is there to improve the DPF regeneration process. We started to receive reports that these vaporiser units can get blocked, causing regeneration failures and DPF issues. This prompted Laser tools to design the now well-established DPF Fuel Vaporiser Spanner, for Ford, that makes removal of the vaporiser a much simpler affair. Thanks to feedback from our customers we have discovered that removal of the vaporiser can often result in thread damage so we have also introduced this thread chaser specifically for the exhaust vaporiser used by Ford.
- Designed to reform and clean M20 x 1.5 threads found on exhaust system fuel vaporiser ports.
- The short lead-in on the thread chaser ensures the thread is cut as close as possible to the internal seat of the exhaust.
- For use on any M20 x 1.5mm thread.
- Use with 21mm sockets or spanners. Total length: 50mm.
- Use with axle grease for clean threads and to catch any removed metal in the flutes.
The spanner has been developed specifically for the removal of the DPF fuel vaporiser injector (Ford OE number 1940311) retaining nut on the Ford Transit Custom where access is very restricted. It is recommended that the 8100 is used with the Laser 4590 hand impact wrench. The 22mm fuel vaporiser is used across the Ford diesel range, but not all have such poor access as the Transit Custom models. Where access permits, this spanner can also be used with 1/2" drive ratchet.
- Super slim fit for access; 22mm across the flats, 6 point crows foot with 1/2" drive.
- Applications include: Ford 1.6, 2.0 & 2.2L Duratorq TDCi engines from 2012 (EURO 6 engines).
- Vaporiser failure is often indicated by ECU fault codes P244C or P26A1.
- For best results use with hand impact wrench
