'Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story'

Production Concept Art 12

An original concept art design / storyboard from the production of the beloved biopic, 'Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story' (Universal Pictures, 1993), starring Jason Scott Lee and Lauren Holly and directed by ace-helmer, Rob Cohen ('The Fast and The Furious', 'Dragonheart').

Hand-painted by famed production artist, Nikita Katz (Batman Returns and Predator), this kinetic artwork shows the character of Bruce Lee being foot-swept by his demonic arch-nemesis, when he invades Bruce's imagination during the filming of The Hall of Mirrors sequence for 'Enter the Dragon'. It has been rendered in mixed media (a superb matt duo-tone original concept-drawing mounted on 8 x 11" bond paper) and includes the following production notes along the lower edge of the frame: ' Up Angle: BL is foot-swept'.  The storyboard is identified by the number '29' in the top right corner and features the original punch holes from the art-department compilation-deck.

The conceptual sequence depicted in this storyboard was not actually included in the final film. Instead, the demon pushes Bruce straight through the mirrored glass and into his horrific alternate reality.  Consequently, this beautiful storyboard collection provides a fascinating insight into the unseen development phase of this very popular film.

This stunning example of original production-artwork by one of the industry's most respected and prolific storyboard artists would make a wonderful addition to any collection celebrating Bruce Lee, the world of iconic pop-culture cinema or the celebrated career of Nikita Katz (1940-2010).

The storyboard remains in very good 'production-used condition, with only minor handling-wear, and is perfect for framing...
