Here is a beautiful Blair Kamaret which was there high end 4x5 rollfilm camera made around 1891. The camera leather is in great shape showing some wear. The strap is intact. The shutter does fire but needs some manual help in cocking it. These cameras competed with the early Kodak string sets until Kodak sued Blair for patent infringment which made these cameras rather rare even though they are a much better made camera then the early string sets. The Blair Kamaret sold for $40 in 1891 which today is around $1300. The Kodak String Sets sold for only $25. These cameras could take 100 exsposure rolls of film. The verical door in the back opens and closes when you push the bass button on the top in the back. The camera is in great shape for its age and would make a great addition to anyones collection. Check out my other auctions for more early American antique plate cameras and early brass lenses. Buyer pays shipping and the shipping quote includes insurance.
