Ideal for both Marine and Malawi/Tanganyikan freshwater aquariums.
Excellent media for creating a natural environment. Ideal surface for stacking to create reef like structures and caves in addition to holding a huge surface area for beneficial bacteria and algeal growth.
The rock is easily shaped and can be sawn and glued into place.

Please Note that the rock is brittle so you can mould and shape the rocks, this will also mean that some rocks may break up slightly in transit (this is normal), but we do pack the boxes to restrict the movement to reduce this. The gravel/dust from transit is just as beneficial in your aquarium, so give it a rinse and add it.

As mentioned please ensure stones are cleaned well in clean water prior to adding to your aquarium

Tufa Rock/Gravel is also ideal for maintaining a higher pH in coldwater ponds where is will naturally and slowly address ponds that are acidifying. We'd recommended breaking up the Tufa into smaller pieces and adding to a media bag and into a filter or fall. The rock will also algae up and hold beneficial bacteria and would need to be routinely cleaned and replenished.
