Description

Antique, 18th century, circa 1750 AD, good quality Islamic Indo - Persian all-steel gunpowder priming flask.
The priming flask is made of several separate elements of hand-forged solid steel, a crescent shape swelling steel body made of two parts soldered together and fitted with a pierced steel base and spring cot. The tap fitted with a stylized bird over the nozzle.
Mounted with two pierced suspension loops and adorned with two elaborately shaped and pierced hinged panels.

CONDITION: Showing age and usage
slightly pitted with dark patina. Spring in working order, some old solder repairs. One of the suspension loops snapped.

MEASUREMENTS: The overall length across from the mouth's end to the top is approximately 14.5 cm (5.71 inches).
