War is slashed. There are even rumours that

the portrait's subject still haunts the village.

Picture restorer Sandra MacKillop sets

about repairing the painting, but she grows

ever more disturbed by ghostly happenings in

the museum - and the fact that the face in

the portrait bears an uncanny resemblance

to her recently deceased husband.

But when one of the villagers is found

brutally murdered, Barnaby knows that

he's on the hunt for a ruthless killer who

is definitely flesh and blood..
