The establishment of technical playing styles, advances in instrument-making technology, and the never-ending demand for lightweight, easy-to-carry guitars have already spawned many headless guitars, some of which have far surpassed classical guitar designs.
However, Ibanez saw that even with all this progress, there was still more potential in this area. The Q (Quest) series is the new headless guitar option from Ibanez. Of course, it was not a matter of converting existing models to headless guitars or assembling parts for headless guitars, but rather a new quest to develop a completely new guitar from scratch.
We studied the playing styles of various players and pursued uniqueness and originality in everything from pickups, bridges, string locks, and other parts to the body design. The result is a headless guitar that satisfies the relentless quest of guitarists who continue to pursue their own possibilities regardless of genre.

Ergonomic body design
The Q features contours and cuts throughout the body to suit a variety of playing styles. The complex yet sophisticated design ensures maximum playability.
Compact and light weight, yet resonant body
Despite its solid body, it is surprisingly lightweight and compact. Yet it retains the full, warm, woody tone of its predecessor.
Poplar Burl top / Nyatoh body
The body top is made of beautifully grained poplar burl. Nyatoh wood is used for the body, which has excellent characteristics for a full mid-low range.
Parallel Wizard-7 5pc Roasted Maple/Bubinga neck
The Parallel Wizard-7 neck has a consistent neck thickness of 19mm throughout its length. It provides surprisingly easy fingering and playability for players who hold the guitar high. The 5pc construction of roasted maple and bubinga provides excellent stability and durability.
Slanted frets
All frets are evenly slanted at an 8-degree angle. Many modern players tend to hold their guitars high in order to play advanced and complex techniques such as tapping, fingerstyle, and slap techniques. When held high like this, the four fingers pressing the strings naturally tilt slightly inward. The frets can be tilted to fit this, allowing you to play with a more natural feel.
Q58-7" HH pickups
HH array of "Q58-7" humbucker pickups for 7 strings designed for the Q. The pickups are designed to sound well-balanced in all frequencies so that the sound can be easily made up with effects pedals, etc. The low frequency range is powerful without being muddy and distorted. It is also low noise and works well with both digital and analog effects pedals.
dyna-MIX10 switching system with Alter Switch
The dyna-MIX10 can be switched between humbucker mode and single coil mode with the flip of a mini-switch, giving you 10 different sound variations. In the power-tap mode, one coil is tapped and the other coil is specially wired to bring out the low frequency range of the other coil, resulting in clear highs and a thick, clear sound that cannot be obtained with a simple tap. This is a switching system for the modern guitar player who has to play multiple roles with limited equipment.
Custom string lock
Ibanez's newly developed Custom string lock is a simple one-piece construction. They are durable and easy to change strings. They do not require special strings and allow you to use your favorite gauge or brand of strings.
Mono Tune bridges
The wide range of intonation adjustment makes it easy to tune down one note or more. String height adjustment is also easy. The number of parts that make up the saddle has been minimized to achieve a natural sound that brings out the full sound of the guitar itself.
