I built an 8x8x4 common cathode version and a 8x8x4 common anode version this sale is ONE of them.

Please let me know what version you would like to buy: either CC or CA.

My LED's face forward and in the Chinese designs they face upwards.

Also my spacing is different than the Chinese versions so I do not think they are compatible.

They have 74LS595's in DIP sockets to drive the LED's

You will need another 74LS595 and either a ULN2803 (CC) or 8 transistor drivers (CA) to drive the rows. 

Then I ran them next to each other so you can see that the brightness does not vary.

You can actually make a 8x8x8 cube buy inverting the signals so the arduino can run both.
