"The postal issue is dedicated to dog Patron, a favorite of adults and children, the mascot of Ukrainian rescue workers, and a welcome guest at public events.
Since the beginning of the war, the Jack Russell Terrier named Patron has served in the pyrotechnics team of State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Two years ago, the head of the pyrotechnic group of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Chernihiv region gave his son a puppy. The four-legged pet was prepared for exhibitions, but because of the war he had to become a sapper.
In addition to duty, Patron attends press conferences, meetings with foreign leaders, and visits children in hospitals.
Patron has been awarded the Medal "For faithful service".
"Dog Patron" – the first charity postage stamps of Ukraine, issued with an additional face value of 8 UAH. Charitable contributions collected in this way by Ukrposhta will be used to purchase a mechanized demining machine and provide assistance to animal shelters.

Patron (Ukrainian: Патрон, pronounced [pɐˈtrɔn]; lit. 'cartridge'; born 20 July 2019) is a detection dog who works for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. He is a Jack Russell Terrier.
Patron first came to prominence during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, during which Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded him the Order for Courage for his work in locating and defusing unexploded ordnance left behind by Russian troops. As of 8 May 2022, Patron has found 236 such devices.
On 1 September, 2022 Ukrposhta started selling Patron charity stamps to raise money for a demining vehicle and animal shelters.
On 5 May 2022, Minister of Internal Affairs Denys Monastyrsky announced the creation of the International Coordination Center for Humanitarian Demining, with Patron as its mascot. Four days later, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, accompanied by Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, jointly honored Patron and Iliev with the Order for Courage, Third Class, thanking them for their service to Ukraine.
On 27 May 2022, Patron was awarded the Palm Dog for "DogManitarian Work" at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
