Vintage MCM 1967 L&L WMC 8852 Brass Metal Wall Sconce Light ~ Electric.

This is a lovely cast brass Mid Century Modern L&L WMC model 8852 wall sconce. It is quite heavy. Marked on the back of the wall mount as part of the casting is "1967 L&L WMC" which stands for Loevsky & Loevsky White Metal Castings. This corporation was in business in Carlstadt, N.J., from about 1937 until the late 1970s. These particular sconces were designed and sold by Virden Industries. There is some tarnishing but it will polish up beautifully if you so choose.  The Sconce is in great condition with no damage noted. The only thing I see is it is missing a couple of the fitter screws that hold a globe. This style of sconce works with or without a globe. Just an ornate vintage style bulb looks beautiful too. When this sconce was removed from the farm it just had an oversized crackle glass round bulb in it. The bulb is not included. Perhaps you have a globe just waiting for the perfect fixture.  Either way, this classic sconce fits with many decor styles. The fixture does have the bonus electrical outlet. This sconce would be Perfect in a powder room, on the wall of the bar, in a small nook or dark corner.  Add next to your favorite chair for extra reading light or Use a low wattage bulb in the hallway as a nightlight. The sconce measures approximately 9" tall x 5½" across with an 8½" projection out from the wall. The fitter measures 3½". This was hardwired previously and the wires are in fair condition. However, I always recommend updated wiring with any vintage lighting in order to comply with todays safety standards. Please see pictures as they are part of the description.
