"The Bronze Horseman" - a monumental equestrian monument to the first Russian Emperor Peter the Great, created in 1768-1778 under the influence of the French sculptor Etienne Maurice Falconet, opened on Senate Square in St. Petersburg on August 7 (18), 1782; one of the symbols of St. Petersburg, one of the most defeats of sculptural neoclassicism.
