This charger has great provenance.  It was purchased in the 1860's by a young woman (ca 1844-1906) from Bridgeport / Fairfield, Connecticut who sailed with her uncle, a ship captain, to Rotterdam and other working European ports.  She relocated to California in 1870 on the newly completed Transcontinental Railroad, and the charger descended in the same San Francisco family to this time.

Delft pottery was designed to mimic Chinese porcelains which featured white and blue colors. This charger depicts peacock feathers forming a background to still life of flowers and fruit in a spittoon shaped vase.  It has an ochre rim. It is approximately 14 in  diameter and 2 in. deep

In the final photo the  black dot on interior rim of back is for a wall hanger.
