was a Swedish designer and master weaver. She went to the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in Stockholm, the School of Arts and Crafts (Kunsthåndværkerskolen) in Copenhagen and The School of the Association of Friends of


Textile Art (Handarbetets vänners Vävskola) in Stockholm. Ingegerd Silow received industry practice in Borås and was employed as a pattern-designer at Swedish Handicraft Association (Svensk Hemslöjd) in Stockholm and Heyman & Olesen, Stockholm. She has done collections as a freelancer of curtains, blankets and carpets and designed and launched flat weave carpets (rölakan) for Eric Ewers AB and together with Axeco AB. Ingegerd Silow’s original carpets were also featured at the National Museum in Stockholm, Liljevalchs Art Venue in Stockholm as well as internationally. Silow’s design portfolio includes formal repeating patterns, geometric motifs, quirky florals, landscape scenes and whimsical folk-art designs.

The legacy Silow created lives on in her uniquely Scandinavian carpets and textiles.
