The coins have the shape of a circle, with a protruding edging around the circumference on the obverse and reverse sides. The side surface of the coins is corrugated.


Obverse

in a circle framed with a geometric ornament, there is a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus, under it the year of minting is indicated, for silver - the mass of the precious metal in purity and the alloy sample; around the circle - inscriptions: in the upper part - "REPUBLIC OF BELARUS", in the lower part - "TWENT RUBLE" on silver and "AD3IN RUBEL" on copper-nickel.


Reverse

in the central part in the background - a relief image of the gate of the Minsk castle of the XII century, reconstructed by Yu.A. hare; on the front - the Cathedral Church and the tower with chimes on the Cathedral Square of the beginning of the 20th century; top right - coat of arms of the city; inscriptions around the circle: "MINSK" and "GARADY BELARUS".
