Ceramic Noh mask Ko-omote with box

The actual Noh masks used in the theater are made of wood, but sometimes they are made of ceramic for decoration.
Noh masks signify the characters' gender, age, and social ranking, and by wearing masks the actors may portray youngsters, old men, female, or nonhuman (divine, demonic, or animal) characters.
"Ko" means pretty, young, and beautiful, and is the face of the youngest woman.
This woman's teeth are painted black, indicating that she is a married woman.

Comes with wooden box.
