The coins have the shape of a circle, with a protruding edging along the circumference on the obverse and reverse sides. The side surface of the coins is corrugated.

at the top in the center - a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus and around the circle the inscription: REPUBLIC OF BELARUS; in the center of the coins, against the background of the navigation chart, there is a stylized image of a wind rose (on the silver one, with a printed hologram); around the circle of the inscription: below the denomination - 20 RUBLES (on silver) and 1 RUBEL (on copper-nickel), to the left of it is the year of minting (on the right of the silver - the assay of the alloy and the trademark (trademark) of the Mint of Poland).

Reverse
in the center - the image of the longest sailing ship in the world Dar Pomorza against the backdrop of a seascape, on the left - a reduced image of this ship (side view), and below it in the original inscription: DAR POMORZA.
