The coins have the shape of a circle, with a protruding edging around the circumference on the obverse and reverse sides. The side surface of the coins is corrugated.

Obverse
at the top - a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus and an inscription around the circle: REPUBLIC OF BELARUS; in the center of the coins, against the background of the navigational sea chart, there is a stylized image of a wind rose (on the silver one, with a printed hologram); below - the denomination of 20 RUBLES (on silver) and 1 RUBLE (on copper-nickel), to the left of it - the year of minting (on the silver to the right - the assay of the alloy and the trade mark of the Mint of Poland).

Reverse
in the center - an image of one of the oldest sailing ships in the world "Constitution" against the background of the coastline of the seascape, on the left - a reduced image of this ship (side view), and under it in the original inscription: CONSTITUTION.
