Head of Minerve 1 st titre for guarantee 950/1000 French sterling silver. The quality of the gold used to recover sterling silver is a minimum of 750 mils (18-karat).


This is a stunning and rare footed dish, in porcelain and sterling silver 18-karat gold rings with his serving spoon. No monograms.

The porcelain is finely hand painted. Magnificent polychrome decoration of bouquets of flowers with an elegant coloring, green, blue, purple, yellow, orange, gray and pink. The Saxe mark was used by Charles Ahrenfeldt from the 1890- 1910. The sterling silver part is decored with crossed torches, flowers, acanthus and foliage.

The sterling silver 18-karat gold serving spoon is decorated in Napoleon 1st Empire styling on the theme of antiquity and Greco-Roman mythology with winged victories, vine leaves, bunches of grapes, palmette... The sophistication of the design on the handle is exceptional. Both design and quality of workmanship are uncommon, and its manufacture would have necessitated many more hours work than usual.

He was active from 1890 to 1969

Before becoming a manufacturer, Charles Ahrenfeldt was a porcelain decorator. He was a New York importer, as well as owning decorating studios and factories in StarRole, Czechoslovakia (Altrohlau, Bohemia, Austria) and Paris, Limoges, France.
In 1894 he had his own factory built in Limoges. The factory developed and stood out at the 1925 International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris, where it won the Grand Prix.

The condition is very good for this set. 18-karat gold finishing is very well preserved. The porcelain is superb, no nicks, chips, cracks or crazing, . A master silversmith made a complete cleaning and polishing.
