Jane Ray Jade Ite Jadeite Saucer
Fire King Anchor Hocking
For consideration is this
vintage pressed glass saucer made by Anchor Hocking in their Fire King line.
The pattern is Jane Ray (a ½ inch border of lines around the rim) and the color
is Jade Ite or Jadeite – an opaque green. This was made between 1945 and 1963
in the U.S.A.
The saucer measures 5 7/8
inches in diameter, it has the smooth back and the base is marked (see photos).
It is in excellent vintage condition with no problems noted. Buyer will pay shipping on a 1 pound box. Thank you for looking!
NOTE: Fire-King was originally produced in the
1940s for everyday use, rather than display. It was often sold in bags of flour
as a promotional item or was given away at gas stations. Fire-King could also
be purchased at local grocery and hardware stores.
NOTE: Anchor
Hocking Glass Corporation was created in 1937 from the merger of Hocking Glass
with the Anchor Cap and Closure Corporation. A few years later, in 1942, they
introduced their hugely popular "Fire-King" glassware, which
continued in production until the late 1970s. Fire-King was pressed glass
dinnerware and kitchenware made from oven-proof glass, usually opaque. Two
special colors in Fire-King have become very popular and easily recognized -
the pale green "Jade-ite" and the iridized peach color with a mirror
finish called "Peach Lustre".
