LISTED HERE A NOSTALGIC MOUNTED PRINT FROM THE ARCHIVES.

Seen here Midland Junction. Ashchurch station, a characteristically Midland Railway structure on 27 February 1966. Situated north of Cheltenham, Ashchurch was on the main line from Derby and Birmingham to Bristol and was the junction for the branch to Tewkesbury and Malvern (closed to passenger traffic in two stages — Malvern to Upton-on-Severn on 1 December 1952, and Upton-on-Severn to Ashchurch on 14 August 1961) and the loop to Barra Green via Evesham and Redditch (closed as far as Redditch — now a Birmingham commuter terminus —on 12 June 1963). Once most trains stopped at Ashchurch but after the closure of the branches its usefulness was over and it closed on 15 November 1971. The Tewkesbury—Upton line was the last home of the Stanier LMS 0-4-4 tanks.
