About Machine:
In the mid-1970s. 350cc was the upper legal engine size limite for what we considered "mid-sized" motocycles. However in 1974, Kawasaki Motors got a head start on its competitors when it announced that it was developing a new bike to take advantage of relaxed new government regulations that would raise the legel upper limit of mid-sized engines to 400cc. By 1976, Kawaski shifted production of all of its 2-cycle/3-cylinder engine powered road bikes to the lightly low powered "KH" series, the name of the previously manufactured 400SS MACH II changed to KH400. The KH400 was the product of Kawasaki's cutting edge engineering.
The last and crowning glory of the KH400 series, the "A7", went on sale in Nov 1979. The bike's seat featured a new "KH" logo, and its body was painted in Kawasaki's "image color" of lime green. The reliability and performance of the KH400 series found a lasting place in riders' hearts, forever associated there with romantic images of the perfect harmony of rider, bike, and long, winding highway line.
