Pink Floyd - A Saucerful Of Secrets

The second Pink Floyd album is finally back on vinyl!

This is what the vinyl lovers among the Pink Floyd fans have been waiting for. The rock legends are gradually releasing all of their albums as LPs. In June 2016 the band will release their first four records, including »A Saucerful Of Secrets«.

A Saucerful Of Secrets is Pink Floyd 's second album. The record was originally released in June 1968.

The recordings took place between October 1967 and April 1968 at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. As with their first album, Norman Smith, who also worked as a sound engineer for the Beatles, sat at the mixing desk.

A Saucerful Of Secrets is the first album to also feature David Gilmour on vocals and guitar. It's also the last record with Syd Barrett. Because of his mental health issues, the band's founder was no longer reliable, so the rest of the band brought Gilmour on board. Most of the songs on »A Saucerful Of Secrets« are therefore not penned by Barrett, but mainly by Roger Waters and Richard Wright.

Highlights on "A Saucerful Of Secrets" include the songs "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun", "Corporal Clegg" and the multi-part instrumental title track "A Saucerful of Secrets".

James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman have completely remastered all of the album's songs for the reissue.

Simultaneously with A Saucerful Of Secrets, the albums The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, More and Ummagumma were re-released. All reissues come on 180g vinyl. The cover artwork is always the original design.

The only collaborative effort by Syd Barrett and David Gilmour. With "A Saucerful Of Secrets", Pink Floyd 's second album is finally available as an LP for the first time in over 20 years, on 180 g heavy vinyl.
