Vintage 1920s Kid's Sports Velvet Fabric Table Cloth Runner Bicycle Race & Soccer Game Tapestry

Listed here is a lively kid's sports scene on a velvet table cloth/runner or piano scarf from the 1920s. There are two sports featured with the left side being a bicycle race and the right side being a soccer match. It is quite a humorous sort of cartoon like depiction especially with the dog getting the soccer ball. There is a geometric border on three sides framing the scene, which is in tones of beige, orange and cream on a dark gray colored background. The velvet gives it a very shimmery appearance.

Measurements for this panel are 30-3/4" length not including fringe and the width is 12-1/2". Weght is 5 ounces. The scene covers the entire length as pictured. Condition is quite good, no stains are visible but the fringe is missing in places along with fabric loss at the corners. This visible wear is pictured in the photos.

While I do not know more than I have mentioned about the previous life of this table runner, I store it in a smoke free environment. It is a great piece for a collection, as is or with a little repair to give it new life for years to come.
