Beautiful survivors from 1879 Aesthetic Movement. Bates, Gildea, & Walker Satsuma “Love Birds” large soup or salad bowls measuring 9.75” diameter and 2” high. These rare pieces are in amazing condition, and bear the Bird and Diamond registry hallmark used from 1878-1882. The English registry dates this piece to 1879.

Brilliant blues, blacks, cream, and gray. These bowls have virtually no wear on top and sides, and only very minor wear on bottom if any. Some occasional loss of color on rim and creamy beige crackled glaze Satsuma is known for.
