AQUILEGIA VIRIDIFLORA “CHOCOLATE SOLDIER”, COLUMBINE
Very unusual, rare species from eastern Siberia and northern China. “Chocolate Soldier” features nodding, 2cm bi-colour flowers with attractive chocolate petals, yellow-green sepals, short brown spurs and contrasting golden-yellow anthers. Flowers have sweetly, pleasant fragrance and appear in late spring- early summer. Remove flowering stems after bloom to encourage additional bloom. The plants after flowering should be watered to enjoy ground cover effect of the very ornamental blue-green foliage. Perfect, compact perennial for borders or rockeries. It prefers rich not too dry soils in sun dappled shade. Easy from seeds.
