The perfect gift for aviation enthusiasts, pilots and travelers alike. The pen cap features a highly detailed 3-blade propeller engine encased in a cowl. The pen clip is adorned with a classic two blade airplane propeller. The center band embodies the frontal view of a biplane including the support structures found on the wings and propellers appearing to be in motion. Finally, the pen tip features elongated cowl bumps to represent the added relief on the engine cylinders, while also providing you a comfortable grip. Includes a smooth writing Parker style refill.

Ironwood (olneya tesota) is one of the densest and most stable woods known. It is so dense that it will not float in water, and so hard that it has been used for bearings. It's hardness and color variety means it yields extremely attractive appearance and finishes beautifully.

As a world-renowned artisan, I was able to form this fine writing instrument through a painstaking process that involved several hours and stages in order to present a finely polished work of art. The blanks were measured and drilled before inserting a brass tubes. They were then trued on each end before being placed on my Rikon midi-lathe for the shaping using various chisels. When the desired shape was achieved, I then took them through a multi-stage sanding process finishing with nine steps of micro-mesh, followed by a multi-step polishing with boiled Linseed oil and medium Cyanoacrylate, then thin Cyanoacrylate followed with Aussie Oil and Carnauba wax resulting in a glass like finish.

This fine writing instrument is destined to provide years of pleasure for the discriminating user. Its unique, one-of-a-kind design will speak volumes to your individuality, knowing that you are carrying the pride of handmade craftsmanship that is often lacking in a world of duplicity.
