Brass Converter Adapter is being offered for sale here).

Hello, everyone. It is now almost two years since I started selling the Converter Adapter for My and Your favorite Parker-51 Aerometric Pens. NOW I CAME UP WITH A NEW DESIGN FOR THE PARKER 21. Unfortunately, our sales and distribution were disrupted by the COVID From 2 long years, due to pandemic. Shipping was unavailable, and Raw Material and Machinery was difficult to Acquire. The Raw material as well as Machining has become more expensive. I am happy to report that the problems have now abated, and we are now able to resume manufacture and sale of these unique devices.

I EARNESTLY THANK EVERY ONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT, AND ENCOURAGEMENT EVEN AT THIS DIFFICULT TIMES.

As Usual, the Converter Adapter I designed has two components:

1) The Sleeve (Body),

2) The Piercing Tube.

Both the parts are Built from Solid Brass, for Durability. Aluminium is another Metal which is affordable and Machinable. But, it has its own disadvantages, like getting oxidized due to Atmospheric oxygen and has less durability. Brass is considerably more stable and harder than Aluminum. Also, On the other hand,  Brass has high durability. Brass is

highly compatible with Celluloid than Steel and Stainless Steel. Replacing the original ink-feeding system of the Parker 21 with the Converter Adapter increases the weight of the Pen, Marginally by 1.5 grams. Pen will not loose its Critical Balance, since the added as the increase Of 1.5 grams will fall on the Anterior Portion of the Pen. Even, after Posting the cap, the Pen Exhibits stability and sits in the fingers with a good Posture.

The Sleeve (Body):

The Sleeve is a  cylindrical Brass part easily seen in the photographs. The Tail of the Collector fits snugly into the sleeves Front End (smaller opening), which has been manufactured with a demanding tolerance of ± 15 microns (µ) (0.015 mm). The Clutch ring fit perfectly over the sleeve, as shown in the photograph. The Hooded Section (Shell) of the Parker 21, screws perfectly onto the brass sleeve. The posterior end of the sleeve is designed to accommodate a Parker twist converter or cartridge. Then the barrel of the Pen can be screwed into the position.

Note: This component is manufactured with a tolerance of ± 20 Microns (µ), to its Original Dimensions

of the Pen. (1 Millimeter =1000 Microns).

Piercing Tube:

The Piercing tube is also also made of Brass to render Extra Durability. It is the most DELICATE part of the Converter Adapter. It is Hand Turned, Hand Polished, and Finished to a tolerance the Precession of the Parker Parker 21 size of ± 10 microns (µ) (0.010 mm). It is the component which allows ink to flow from the cartridge or twist Converter  to the nib. It takes the opening of the Twist Converter.

Note: This component is manufactured with a tolerance of ± 10 Microns (µ), to its Original Dimensions

of the Parkers Piercing Tube.

How to use the Converter Adapter?

It’s really quite easy, very simple. The Converter Adapter comes to you with the piercing tube already in place. It is not necessary to use the breather tube which comes with the original design of the Parker 21; with the Converter Adapter in place, the pen works equally well without it. However, if you choose to use the breather tube, carefully cut shorten its length as

shown in the photograph 4. Then gently insert the transparent collector (with the nib and feed already attached to it) into

the Front End (Smaller Opening) of the Converter Adapter sleeve. Let the Breather tube Pass through the aperture of the Piercing Tube, shown in the Photo 4. Continue to Insert the tail of the Collector into the smaller opening of the Adapter Sleeve. . It fits snugly, without any gap, between the walls. Then place the Clutch Ring ring in Position and , Now, Screw  on the Hooded  section (Shell) of the Pen. Connecting the posterior part of the pen is just as easy. First, Fill the Parker Twist Converter with Ink. Slide the the Twist Converter  gently into the opening of the Sleeve.  At this point, One or Two Drops of Ink may come out of the Nib. Don’t get Panic!. That is a normal consequence of air pressure in the Twist Converter, which escapes through the Breather Tube. Gently wipe off the excessive Ink, and you are ready to go.

Please Note:

Don’t not use any Sharp or even Blunt  rods for Cleaning the Converter Adapter. Those Rods  can irreversibly Damage the delicate Piercing Tube Irreversibly and cause malfunctioning. The Piercing Tube has been placed in its position with Precision, by the use of Hydralic Press. Hence, its alignment is very important to Prevent the Pen from leaking. Basically, this Converter Adapter is used to increase the convenience of filling the pen with ink, assuring that the Ink flows properly onto Paper. The Converter Adapter, does not interfere with the Ink flow mechanism of the Pen. It just , holds the Collector and the Twist Converter in proper Position, and accommodates the Hooded section (Shell) and the Barrel.  The Pen displayed here is NOT for sale.

THEORY:

Breather tube is used to counteract the Wetting Phenomenon, caused by Inks, with the help of Capillary Raise Mechanism. Wetting Phenomenon and the Capillary Rise are two Physical Properties of all Liquids.Wetting Phenomenon is the nature of adhesion of the liquid to the walls of its container to wet it. On the other hand, Capillary Raise mechanism Raises the fluids against the gravity and Hence, Counteracts the Wetting Phenomenon. Wetting Phenomenon is very less (or ) Negligible with modern days Converters and Cartridges. Hence, Breather tube is not Required. However, you can choose the options

between, Having the Breather Tube (or) Removing the Breather tube.

Pictorial Explanation of photos:

1) First Photo shows the The Brass Converter Adapter, holding the Collector at the Anterior End, and a Parker Twist Converter at the posterior end.

2) Second Photo shows The Converter Adapter, with its Sleeve (Body) and its Internal Part, Piercing Tube. Piercing Tube is assembled inside the Sleeve, at the time  delivery to the Buyer.

3) Third Photo shows The Hood Section (Shell), Screwed on the Collector, Holding on to the Sleeve. Twist converter is pushed in to the Posterior opening of the Sleeve.

4) Fourth Photo shows the Breather Tube,  Cut Short to accommodate into the Piercing Tube. Breather Tube is shortened to allow the free movement of the Twist Converters Piston, and also to to accommodate the Parker ink cartridge.  The Threads of the Brass Adapter is Greased and the Clutch Ring is also applied with Silicone Grease to prevent the Leaking of the Pen. The Plastic Section or Shell of the Pens threads, also has to be Greased. I am Planning to design an "O" Ring, which can be used with the Converter Adapter to Prevent the leaking. GREASING THE PEN PARTS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO PREVENT THE LEAKING OF THE PEN.

5) The Fifth Photo shows, the Brass threading of the Adapter, Greased, which accommodates the Barrel of the Pen.

6) The Sixth Photo shows, The Pen Assembly with barrel and Cap removed.

(Please note: The pen itself is not for Sale).

7) The 7th Photo shows, The actual  Parker 21 Pen, for which the Converter Adapter is Designed. There are another model of Parker 21 which has a different Design and sold in this shop.

Converter Adapter, does not interfere with the ink flow mechanism of the pen. It holds the Collector and the Twist Converter in Position, and accommodates Pens Section and Barrel, similar to that of the Aerometric System.  The Pen displayed here is NOT for sale.

Advantages:

1) Easy to refill the Pen pen with the ink of your Choice.

2) It can take the cartridges, but the Breather tube should be shortened so that, remaining small length of the Breather tube remains Inside the piercing tube.

3) Converter Adapter takes holds more ink, than an the original Aerometric sSystem.

4) Remaining Ink is clearly visible, through the converter.

5) Problem of replacing the silicon Sacs will not be there.

Please note that, the Converter Adapters price is increased by 0.50 USD, as the Metal and Machining cost has touched all time high.
