Five years had passed since the AE-1 became a worldwide hit, and in addition to the shutter speed priority TTL-AE, there were many requests from the market for a fully automatic programmed AE system, which was adopted in the A-1 and could capture images by pressing the shutter button.
The AE-1 Program was developed as an advanced successor to the AE-1 to meet these demands.
The AE-1 Program was developed as a successor to the AE-1 in response to these requests. The AE-1 Program featured a dual mode for automatic exposure, with shutter speed priority AE and program AE, and the palm grip that had been popular on the A-1.
In addition, the A-1 featured the shared use of the high-performance Motor Drive MA, and the information display in the viewfinder was markedly improved by the use of LED mask illumination.
In order to share the motor drive MA, the connection contact point was changed from two to three, and the Power Winder A was upgraded to the Power Winder A2 with a single frame/continuous shooting switch.

This Camera has been tested in our store and is in good working order.

■ Optical system:
The eyepiece lens has been cleaned. No effect on focusing. No mold. Chile dust is slight and clear.
The pentaprism has been cleaned without corrosion. Clear.
The focusing screen has been cleaned, but there is a small amount of dust inside.
The mirrors have been cleaned. Clear.
(The optical system may drop dust during transportation. Please forgive me.)

■ Cosmetically:
There are slight threads and scratches.
(Handle the battery cover with care. It is a vintage item and will break easily.)
The top and bottom of the back cover receiving part, the hinge part, and the malt of the mirror receiving part have been replaced with new ones.
The shutter curtain is clean with no twists.

■ Functionally:
Shutter speed responds well in all speed areas.
The exposure meter confirms that the correct value is displayed on the indicator inside the shutter.
The ASA sensitivity dial, film take-up lever, film winding number start and return operation when the back cover is opened, and shutter timer operation work without problems.

Overall, this lens is so beautiful that it's hard to believe it's been over 30 years.

■ Optical system: 
No fungus, balsam separation.
Also, when exposed to strong light, fine dust can be seen on the front and rear elements, but it did not affect the shooting.

■ Cosmetically: 
There are slight scratches and signs of use, but please judge from the photos.

■ Functionally:  
The action of the focus ring is smooth.
The aperture blades are clean with no oil on them.
The click of the aperture ring is good, and the operation of the aperture opening/closing lever is light and trouble-free.
