Powerstep arch supports were created through a detailed computer analysis of the castings from hundreds of people’s actual feet. This design process resulted in an amazingly supportive, semi rigid, prescription-like orthotic arch support. The Powerstep Wide Fit orthotic arch supports consist of a polypropylene plastic arch support that is encapsulated in two distinctive layers of cushioning foam.

The arch support shell used in the Powerstep Wide Fit has the same dimensions as the shell used in the Powerstep Pinnacle or Power Step Original. This means that the foot print (pun intended) from the heel to just before the ball of the foot is the same and not wider than the Powerstep Pinnacle or Original. The only part of the Powerstep Wide Fit that is actually wider is the forefoot. It’s about ¼ inch wider which is something but maybe not the 3E to 6E width as is claimed on the package.

The fact is that (if you needed to) you could trim a little strip of the edge of the forefoot and it would be the same width as the Pinnacle or Original Powerstep arch supports.
